The HIPS-CAS is oriented to address the national strategic demands in clean energy and environment security, and to address the frontiers of physical sciences under extreme and complex conditions. By conducting the beforehand research, design, construction and operation of the large-scale research facilities such as experimental advanced superconducting tokomak facility (EAST) plus auxiliary heating systems (EAST-AHS), steady high magnetic field facility (SHMFF), and atmosphere environment measurement research facility (AEMRF), the CASHIPS is committed to strengthen the preponderant and characteristic disciplines such as plasma physics, atmosphere environment optics physics and chemistry, material and life science under extreme and complex conditions, and develop strategic high technologies such as magnetic confinement nuclear fusion techniques, atmosphere environment measurement techniques, high magnetic field techniques, as well as functional materials and intelligent systems for the energy, environment and health demands.
Our mission is to motivate all faculty to develop and take action to achieve future career goals through high quality services and make the HIPS-CAS an international renowned base in physical science research, strategic high technology development, innovative talent cultivation.
